As 3M Novec products are phased out, there is a need for other solvent products that can be used as suitable replacements. Solvent Company’s Versatill® QPi is a 3M Novec 72DA replacement that offers comparable performance. At the same time, the environmental and safety profile of this Novec 72DA replacement offers better compatibility with anticipated regulatory changes geared toward reducing the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS).
Versatill® QPi is an aggressive cleaner with azeotropic properties, aimed at degreasing and cleaning metal and ceramic surface, and can be utilized in existing vapor degreasing equipment wherever ionic residue is present. It is an excellent replacement for many solvents, including CFCs, PFCs, HFEs, HCFCs (HCFC-141b, HCFC-225) and aqueous cleaners, in terms of performance and cost.

Versatill® QPi’s status as a 3M Novec 72DA replacement makes it suitable for a wide range of applications in which HFE-72DA solvents are used. These include:
