About Us

Pursuing the Chemistry of Results

Researchers, Developers and Manufacturers

For more than 38 years, the Solvents Company has been researching and developing patented formulations as well as manufacturing a line of best-in-class, non-flammable specialty fluids. We are extremely proud of our deep chemical knowledge, wealth of industry experience and endless determination to improve our products.

Our goal is to create solvents that are not only more effective, but are also climate and environmentally friendly while providing users with the safest possible workplace. Toward that end, we continually seek to improve our formulations by using the latest technology to create new and safer, greener and more efficient products that promote a cleaner, more sustainable and healthier future.

Solvents Company is an independent manufacturer whose strength comes from our ability to create previously unexplored and niche formulations. As chemists and experts in non-flammable solvents, we understand the science behind our products. We do not purchase or license others’ products to manufacture or resell; we research and blend proprietary products for the market. We are driven to create products — including custom formulations — that solve our customers’ problems.

Why Our Customers Choose Solvents Company

Our patented, unique formulations improve efficiency and workflow while reducing the solvent sector’s impact on our planet. Solvents Company provides:

  • Products focused on customers’ needs
  • Higher efficiency and productivity
  • Improved safety for operators
  • Greater environmental value
  • Best ROI in the industry

Solvents Company’s Past …

Our company was originally established in 1985 as Poly Systems. From the beginning, we’ve concentrated on specialty cleaning fluids that meet the needs of engineers, chemists and maintenance professionals.

In 1998, we began manufacturing n-Propyl Bromide (nPB) formulations to fill the need for non-ozone depleting chemicals. In 2002, our award-winning formulation received a patent and became the industry leader.

In 2013, we rebranded and restructured as Solvents Company, manufacturing in Kingston, New York, which is only two hours from the heart of New York City. Since then, we’ve specialized in research and development as well as the manufacture of non-flammable solvents and specialty degreasers.

Cleaning Power Without the Unwanted Impacts

Our various brands are united by a shared mission to improve efficiency and workflow for our customers and stakeholders while reducing the environmental footprint left on our planet by the solvents sector. In the nearly century-long history of the non-flammable solvents cleaning sector, chemists believed that quality cleaning and degreasing were inversely engaged with the environment, but Solvents Company is launching a future that does not necessitate balancing environmental and safety impacts against products’ required cleaning strengths.

Is it possible to develop safe, environmentally friendly solvents that meet industrial cleaning needs? We have always believed that the health and safety of workers and the protection of the environment are compatible with solvent cleaning power. Solvents Company has met the challenge by developing proprietary, eco-friendly solvents that are highly effective at cleaning and degreasing while simultaneously cleaner and safer for people and the planet.

Our customers rely on Solvents Company for non-toxic and environmentally safe solvents that deliver the high-performance cleaning and degreasing they need. Partner with us today to discover the best replacements for legacy chemistries such as n-propyl bromide (nPB), trichloroethylene (TCE), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs).

… Helps Guide Our Future

We look toward the future as we continue our research and development. We plan to create precision cleaning products that meet the needs of tomorrow’s inventions and innovations while contributing to a cleaner, healthier and safer world for all. Solvents Company is prepared to push the boundaries of fluid technology to meet the future head-on.
